This ride took us from Diamond Creek to Heidelberg, Warringal Park, where we stopped at the Billabong cafe, next to the large children’s playground.
We had 10 riders including the son and grandaughter of one of the riders join us on the ride. The ride from Diamond Creek to the Warringal Park took an hour. We had contacted the Cafe in advance so the knew to expect a large group of riders for morning tea. However, when we arrived the owner of the cafe appeared little annoyed because he wondered why another large group of riders that had arrived before us, and bought coffee didn’t use the table that he had specially set up. When we arrived he soon understood the reason why the other group didn’t use the table.
The cafe certainly looked after us and we enjoyed the refreshments sitting at the table that had been set up for us next to the playground.
During the coffee break we talked about the new bike one our regular riders was using because his other bike broke two spokes during the ride back from Warburton last week.
The photos shows a couple of riders waiting for the other riders to come out from the cafe,
as one of the riders tried out a piece of exercise equipment outside the playground, before we all rode back to Eltham and Diamond Creek.
Everyone enjoyed the nice weather and the ride.
